Freezing Orphan Lamb

Freezing Orphan Lamb

by Brett

I have found that trying to thaw out a frozen lamb next to a fire or with hot water bottles does not work as well as a warm bath.

I virtually resurrected an abandoned lamb by using this method yet lost one the week before trying for hours to thaw one out next to the fire. It simply took too long and the lamb died due to exposure.

A hot/warm tub (1-2 hours), holding the head out of the water, and then towel or hairdrier works much better.

That is the best way to go. I do a warm bath then a brisk rub followed by the bottom of my slow combustion stove.
