just starting out with ducks

We are wanting to get ducks. We are wanting them for both meat and eggs. What do you think would be the best kind of ducks we should get?

***************************************************
If you refer to our article on raising ducks you will see that we suggest the dual-purpose Aylesbury duck breed as they lay a high number of eggs a year and are good natured ducks.

However, there are also other duck breeds that are good for both meat and eggs. Orpingtons, Blue Swedish, Muscovies, Saxonys, Cayugas, Appleyards and Crested ducks can all claim the title of being good dual-purpose duck breeds.

All the best with your duck keeping.
