Natural Bug Deterant

Natural Bug Deterant

by Brenda Bell
(Tennessee, USA)

One year I had potato bugs by the bookoos. I purchased an old blender at a yard sale. I picked off 1/2 cup of the bugs, added water and put them in the blender. I sprayed this mix on my potatoes, the bugs left.

They will not eat their own. I learned this from Mother Earth News several years ago.

Hi Brenda,

Absolutely right! It's commonly known as bug juice and you will have success using other bugs that you find on your other vegetables in exactly the same way.

Bug Deterent using Rhubarb and Tobacco
by: John N. Berlin NY

It is also I well know fact that the leaves of rhubarb can be added to a blender as used for the same purpose.

Also try getting a pack of chewing tobacco and soaking in in water and strain and use this as a bug deterrent as well.
