sexing eggs

I was told that you can look at the shape of the egg and that will tell you if its male or female is this true?

Eggs come in all sorts of shapes and sizes, and so sexing chickens by the shape of the shell is a very old wives tale that is total bunk.

The only way to sex your chickens is to be patient. Watch them grow and develop the chirps change to crowing attempts from your cockerels and the rounded feathers around the neck and tail, as found on the hens now become more pointed.
