WINNER OF KENT LIFE MAGAZINE BEST FARMERS MARKET 2004, AND KENT TECHNOLOGY AND ENTERPRISE AWARD 2004,

Started in April 2003 as a new venture, this market is held every Tuesday from 10 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. in the Village Hall, Lancaster Avenue, Capel-le-Ferne. Folkestone, CT18 7LX. We are situated on the B2011 between Folkestone and Dover.

The market was an idea put forward by the Village Hall Management Committee to provide three main objectives:-

1. a service for our community.
2. support local farmers/producers
3. raise funds for our village hall

and we have so far achieved this aim and long may it continue. We try to provide all the basic necessities, and more, for our community along with the knowledge that it is all locally produced in Kent, and is good quality at a fair price. We are a non-profit making charity and every penny we raise from these markets goes back into the maintenance of our village hall.

We have approximately 20 stalls every week selling vegetables, fruit, eggs, meat, fish, preserves, pickles, Asian specialities, bread, cakes, pastries, delicatessen, dog biscuits, soup, desserts. chocolates, fudge, plants, flowers, photo cards, jewellery, quilting etc. We also serve refreshments, which prove a very popular meeting place!

We are presently on the lookout for different products such as dairy products, salad dressings/sauces, pasta, cordials etc. If you are a local producer and would like to come to our market, please do not hesitate to contact us. (Sorry no more Craft) We are at present in the process of applying for a liquor license, which will then enable us to sell Wine and Beer, so will then be searching for a local producer.
