Welding skills allow you to make quick equipment repairs.

Many structural items needed on the farm and in the home can be made by welding them up in your shop and taking a pass on the farm supply store.

Our local University Craft Center has a very inexpensive class to safely learn this valuable skill. Make your gates, carts, clothes lines, harvest racks, plant stands, etc. out of recycled angle iron which is what bed frames are essentially.

The metal "bone yard" of the farm has so many steel objects that can be re-purposed into what you need and with any extremely low carbon foot print.
