No gooseberries this year

We have had our gooseberry bush for the past 7 years and has given us minimal berries..but enough for a batch of jam. This year nothing...It was here when we bought the home and now it doesn't have one berry this year..Is there anything we can do to ensure berries for next year..

ME TOO no gooseberries

I ALSO HAVE HAD GOOSEBERRY PLANTS FOR 5 YEARS AND STILL NO BERRIES. i HAVE PRUNED THEM BY THE BOOKN THEY ARE IN A SUNNY POSITION AND I HAVE FED THEM WITH A FRUIT FERTILISER, plenty of growth but no berries. As one cannot buy gooseberries, real green english type ones I mean, not cape gooseberries,in the johannesburg area I want to grow them. I saw some growing last week with some berries. I AM ABOUT TO CUT THEM RIGHT BACK AND TRY AGAIN NEXT YEAR. HELP ,HELP SOMEONE BEFORE I GO NUTS
