Palm Free Soap

Palm Free Soap

I just wanted everyone to know that you can make a lovely hard soap without using any Palm Oil. Check out www.orangutan.org.au. to see why.
I have been making soap privately and commercially for 10 years and I wanted to raise awareness of this issue. My computer wouldn't download the instructional videos so you may already have this covered; my apologies if so.

A good recipe is as follows:

50% Olive Oil (pomace seems to trace quicker and make a nice hard soap)
30% Coconut Oil
10% Shea Butter
5% Cocoa butter
5% Castor Oil
This recipe creates a really nice lather and a really creamy soap. It traces fairly fast so be prepared, don't over mix.
Run it through a lye calculator.

Suggested EO Blend:
3 parts Lavender
2 parts May Chang
1 part Rosemary

Regards, Bronwyn

Palm Free Soap

This is a wonderful recipe and I thank you for it. I also checked out the website you posted up about the deforesting and increased marketing of Palm Oil. ALternatives are always available if we are willing to look, research and share with others. Again many thanks for this information it is gratefully appreciated...
