Little lambs respond positively to a 2 sided tummy rub following a feed.

Tummy Rub for Lambs
by: Lisa P

This is my third year with orphan lambs and kids, Sometimes they have been on their mothers' teats and sometimes not. The ones we don't know about get at least 24 hrs of colostrum.

I am a big fan of tummy rubs - it helps the lamb have bowel movements and you can pass on the love that way too. The more time I spend bonding the better my babies do.

When I get real busy and cannot get to all of them with the body rubs and attention they are slower and not as healthy. When we take on the responsibility of orphans we are their mother.

Thank you so much for sharing your info regarding the tummy rubs for your lambs, Lisa.

You are quite right, we are their mothers if they are orphaned, and giving them love and attention is something everyone loves to get, even lambs!

Regards
Kathryn
