Turpentine as a home remedy

Turpentine as a home remedy

Hello, I was a little concerned about using turpentine as a natural remedy. Isn't this a petroleum-based product and therefore be corrosive?

*****************************************************

Turpentine has been used as a home remedy for generations. In the good old days, turpentine, milk and castor oil were used on kids with tape worms with great effect. It has also been used in ointments and lineaments.

Don't confuse turpentine with mineral turpentine. Mineral turpentine is petroleum based and has a totally different chemical composition to turpentine, also known as spirit of turpentine, oil of turpentine, gum spirits of turpentine.

This turpentine is not petroleum-based, but the fluid obtained from distilling resin from pine trees. So it is a totally natural product and can be safely used as a home remedy.
