During the dead of a Vermont winter, with sub zero temperatures and piles of snow, it is often easy to forget that Spring (or Mud Season as may be the case) will eventually return.
That is way the bi-weekly Montpelier Farmer's Market, thankfully held indoors, is such a treat. There are a number of farms represented, as well as several Vermont artisans. And to keep your toes tapping, there is usually live music.
Of course, come Spring the market moves outdoors and is truly an incredible weekly experience. You will regularly run into friends, some of which you haven't seen all winter, as well as the distinguished U.S. Senator Patrick Leahy, a resident of nearby Middlesex, VT.
If you every find yourself in central Vermont during the growing season, and a little beyond, be sure to carve out some time to visit the Montpelier Farmer's Market.
