Blackcurrant Jam Recipe

Blackcurrant Jam Recipe

One of things I look forward to in late summer, early fall is picking the blackberries off our farm that grow wild and abundantly.

This really is nature's bounty and it is fun chore for the kids to get involved in too.

However, picking blackberries does not come without scratches, so if you can source a good supply of blackberries without going to war with the plants, you are more lucky than I am!

1.5 lbs fruit
3 lbs sugar
1 pint water

Stalk and cut brown ends off fruit. Boil fruit and water together for 20 minutes. Add the sugar and boil for 5 minutes.

Place in hot, sterilized jars and seal tight.

Made in this way the preserve will last for 2-3 years.
